Fierce Eyes

The girls get a runway lesson at a bowling alley from J. Alexander. The next day, they participate in a runway show for Jeremy Scott. There are two twists. Firstly, they will be wearing see-through blindfolds, and secondly, one girl will be instantly eliminated following the challenge. Despite being instructed not to do so, Samantha pulled up her dress while posing on the runway. However, Hannah was deemed the worst walker and was thus eliminated. Hannah is the second ANTM contestant to be eliminated outside of judging panel, after Magdalena Rivas of Cycle 3. Joslyn's performance was deemed the best, winning her a photo shoot for Seventeen which she shared with Isis and Sheena.

This week's photo shoot would be taking place in their own pool. Nigel Barker photographs the girls as they pose with their faces partially underwater, with an emphasis on their eyes. While many receive positive feedback, Elina, Isis and Joslyn struggle with the shoot.

At judging, despite having a strong photo. Samantha is strongly reprimanded by Jeremy Scott, who felt that her performance at the runway show was offensive. She lands in the bottom two along with Isis, who is criticized for being too concerned with her swimsuit at the shoot and for having sleepy eyes in the photo. Isis is ultimately eliminated.

The girls meet Paulina Porizkova at an empty warehouse for a challenge teach, where they are taught how to make an oversized outfit fit them well and carry off the pose. After the teach, each girl is assigned an outfit to improvise and fit themselves. Samantha is admonished over physically altering the dress’ look, while McKey’s creativity wins her the challenge and the reward of 50 extra frames at their next photo shoot.

Back at the house, Marjorie’s insecurities rub onto some other girls. This week’s photo shoot had the girls portray different disasters unique to Los Angeles, as follows:

Most girls receive praise for their photos, though Lauren Brie is cautioned not to rely on just being pretty. However, it is Clark and Joslyn’s mediocre photos that land them in the bottom two. The judges see Joslyn as starting out at the top of the pack, but slowly falling, while Clark’s inconsistency has the judges worried. In the end, Joslyn’s personality saves her and Clark is eliminated.

The Fiercee Awards

The girls are driven to a photo studio where they meet Tyra for a teach on how to create and improve on their “signature poses”. While Lauren Brie disappoints by producing what Tyra deems as pretty but “empty” photos, Marjorie’s high-fashion take on the “Hunchback of Notre Dame” impresses Tyra – and wins her the challenge. She chooses Analeigh to share in her prize of diamond necklaces from Rafinity totalling $12,000.

For this week’s photo shoot, the girls are taken to the Orpheum Theatre in downtown Los Angeles to portray different award show snafus inspired from Tyra’s Fiercee Awards on The Tyra Banks Show. Marjorie and Analeigh wow Jay, while Elina has trouble letting go of her control and freeing her emotions.

At judging, certain flaws in their photos land Lauren Brie and Sheena in the bottom two, but Sheena’s personality shines through and Lauren Brie is the next girl that leaves the competition.

This is the recap episode featuring some never-before-seen footage, including Samantha being left without a bed at the start of the competition, an argument between Elina and Sheena regarding animal rights and respect for others' beliefs, McKey cooking meals for the girls because she feels left out, Sheena losing hair during her makeover, the girls admiring Nikeysha's talent for rapping, a night out at Red Pearl Kitchen in Hollywood and a bee attack.

Now You See Me, Now You Don't

Original Airdate: October 22, 2008

The girls get a lesson from the Aswirl Twins on how to properly showcase a garment. This is immediately followed by a challenge in which they must wear a green bodysuit to mask their bodies via greenscreen while modeling clothing for Petro Zillia, judged by Ann Shoket. While many are criticized, Elina is chosen as the winner, and gets to shoot a holiday fashion spread for Seventeen along with Analeigh and Marjorie. When they return, Elina and Sheena argue on whether it was hypocritical for Elina, an atheist, to appear in a holiday spread.

The following day, the girls meet Cycle 10 winner Whitney Thompson for a CoverGirl commercial shoot. They are alloted five takes and get to read their lines from a teleprompter. While some excel and others struggle, Joslyn is ill and has a particularly difficult time.

At judging, Tyra challenges the girls to walk in wooden clogs, leading her to announce that they will be going to Amsterdam, though one contestant will be eliminated first. Analeigh is praised highly, with Tyra stating that her commercial was the best ever in ANTM history. Sheena is also praised for her personality in the commercial. However, Elina is once again criticized for being too constrained. Conversely, Joslyn is told that she overacted, even though she is lauded for pulling through and doing the commercial despite being very ill. Tyra notes the two women have very different strengths, and Joslyn is told that she is a "survivor", letting her believe she made it, but Tyra reveals Elina's picture, telling Joslyn that she'll be able to survive being eliminated.
